Environmental Justice and Community Engagement

Environmental Connections

Program Overview: Environmental Justice Youth Initiative

The Environmental Justice Youth Initiative is a dynamic, community-driven program designed to educate, empower, and equip young people to become leaders in addressing environmental challenges in their own neighborhoods. Through hands-on learning, creative problem-solving, and real-world engagement, participants gain the tools and confidence to advocate for healthier, more sustainable communities.

This program centers youth voices, encouraging them to explore environmental issues through a justice lens—understanding how factors like race, income, and geography impact access to clean air, water, and safe living conditions. By connecting education with action, the initiative fosters a new generation of changemakers who are prepared to think critically, collaborate locally, and lead boldly.
